Improvements to the overall crisis situation through this season

Proposal/Suggestion

I have positively evaluated the addition of diverse multiplayer content this season, such as “Pyramid” and “Interception Battles.” However, user fatigue has become severe due to excessive monetization pressure, insufficient consideration for new players, and an unreasonable pickup system. To ensure sustainable service operations, I propose improvements regarding the following seven points.

  1. Improvement of the Reward System and Material Drop Rates Relative to Hunt Counts
Current Status and Issues: Although hunt opportunities have increased significantly, adjustments to material drop rates have led to frequent hunts with little reward (e.g., hunting over 1,000 Thunderblaze Legiana Subspecies and using the Peeling Knife twice, yet still failing to complete an 8-5 armor set). In particular, the supply balance for “Dragonite Ore” and mutated materials is poor, resulting in situations where players accumulate materials but cannot complete equipment.

    Improvement Requests:

Please regularize events that increase the drop rate of Dragonite Ore during specific weeks of the Pyramid period (e.g., the second week).

Increase the drop rate of mutated materials from pickup monsters during the Pyramid period.

  2. Lowering Barriers to Entry for New and Returning Players (Beginners)
Current Status and Issues: The requirement for “Dragonite Ore Fragments” upon reaching ★8 difficulty is burdensome and causes new users to churn. Even with support for raising event-distributed weapons, the need for a large number of Dragonite Ore Fragments for enhancement means it does not provide substantial help in character progression.

    Improvement Requests:

For event-limited weapons, please improve the system so that they can be enhanced using “Event-specific Upgrade Tickets” instead of Dragonite Ore Fragments during the event period and until the end of the Pyramid.

For subspecies monsters in the main story, please apply difficulty reductions (such as reduced HP), similar to the Diablos Subspecies.

  3. Optimization of Pyramid Pickup Placement and Mass Hunt Composition
Current Status and Issues: Monsters with low relevance to the Interception Battles or Pyramid objectives of the given week (e.g., Thunderblaze Legiana Subspecies, Velociprey, etc.) are crowding out pickup slots and Mass Hunt slots, hindering hunt efficiency. Additionally, the uncertainty of appearance rates during Elder Dragon activation events and the meager rewards for Pyramid quests are lowering user motivation.

    Improvement Requests:

Carefully reconfigure the lineup of pickups and Mass Hunts centered around the main compatible monsters for each week of the Pyramid (while maintaining mandatory monsters like Eviljo and Basilos).

Guarantee appearance rates during Elder Dragon activation events, or introduce a mechanism allowing users to select their desired Elder Dragon.

  4. Performance Adjustment of the New Skill “Double Impact” and Improvement of the Drift Refinement System
Current Status and Issues: The new skill “Double Impact” concentrates its effect on head attacks, but it does not align well with the motions of major monsters (e.g., Rajang’s hardened state, Deviljho’s head armor state, Thunderblaze Legiana Subspecies, etc.) or the positions of dimensional mutation parts, significantly reducing its usefulness in actual combat.

    Improvement Requests:

In addition to the stun effect on head attacks, please grant a buff that increases attack power/damage for a certain duration to enhance the skill’s versatility.

During Drift Refinement events, limit the number of hit skill types to a maximum of two to mitigate excessive randomness.

  5. Improvement of Accessibility, Matching, and Rewards for Mass Outbreak Content
Current Status and Issues: Spatial constraints at local mass outbreak spots and latency issues during global multiplayer matching significantly reduce hunt efficiency. Furthermore, the rewards obtained (such as mutated materials) are insufficient compared to the time and effort invested, offering less than standard Mass Hunts.

    Improvement Requests:

Expand accessibility to allow participation in mass outbreaks from within the relevant area (Area), similar to Interception Battles.

Allow a system where pre-formed parties (2–3 people) maintain their status, with only the missing members being matched via multiplayer.

Increase the multiplier for basic rewards, group rewards, and dimensional mutation part destruction rewards in mass outbreaks to at least double.

  6. Balance of Armor Skill Enhancement (Refinement) and Strengthening of Advance Notice
Current Status and Issues: The practical utility of the added skills is very low relative to the consumption of armor refinement materials. Additionally, since these changes are implemented without prior notice, users cannot prepare for material consumption.

    Improvement Requests:

Exclude low-usage skills and reorganize into a practical configuration centered on elemental and utility core skills.

Announce related information in advance via a roadmap before armor enhancement patches and the start of the Pyramid, guiding users to plan their material usage.

  7. Balance Adjustment and Performance Boost Across Weapon Types
Current Status and Issues: While comprehensive adjustments may be planned after the Insect Glaive tweaks, many players prefer specific weapon types. The adoption rates for Sword & Shield, Great Sword, Long Sword, and some style-switching weapons have dropped significantly, with weapons that received style changes earlier being left behind.

    Improvement Requests:

Sword & Shield: Expansion of attack range hitboxes and motion cancel (dodge transition) ranges is needed. Since there are many disadvantages, such as low-value motions, please enhance its base performance.

Great Sword: There are many issues, such as narrow hitboxes and difficult cancels. Please increase the power of motions other than Power Slash and True Charged Slash, and expand attack ranges and cancel timing windows.

Long Sword: Similar to the Great Sword, expansion of motion cancel ranges and increases in various motion powers are needed. I hope for an improvement to the current situation where the optimal strategy is merely to wait for an immediate counterattack after a just-dodge.

That concludes my points. While there are other minor issues, I believe that resolving even these problems would create a sufficiently satisfactory environment. I understand the need to pursue revenue in a live-service operation, but I sincerely hope for improvements in a more user-friendly direction.

Additionally, I look forward to the establishment of a dedicated global official forum to allow free sharing and proposal of such feedback with global players from other regions.

Posting multiple requests within a single topic makes it difficult for the moderators to handle them.

Even if it’s a bit of trouble, please create a separate topic for each request, or if a topic with the same content already exists, please add your comment there.

Thanks for the comment! I’ll make sure to share it.
