In my judgement the only adjustment LBG needs currently is a way for hunters to be able to choose what ammo to load instead of cycling through a rotation. A way similar to lance, with high and low tap when reloading would be sufficient in my judgement, with high tap reload trading speed of reload for ability to load currently used ammo
現状/Current Status
Current LBG is very much accused of being underpowered. The blame is thrown at spread/cut ammo being nerfed to the ground, need for 2 QoL skills to be effective and aggressiveness of certain monsters. After certain amount of hunts with the weapon and my overall experience with the series I came to a conclusion that being able to reload specific type of ammo is the only way to make this weapon feel stronger without tinkering with numbers and possibly making other weapons stronger in the process (bows and HBG in the future). I’m backing this up with the fact that any type of ammo at critical distance is exceptionally powerful and the two offenders of the debacle, spread and cut, are underperforming because they cant be consciously reloaded into or out of
I also think that the current aiming system is not ideal for ranged weapons because when the monster moves laterally across the arena, your camera moves too, but you have little way to tell how much the monster moved unless you’re also taking your sight away to look at the background foliage instead of observing the monster. This makes it difficult to track the monster and shoot ahead of where the monster is going to move to.
Take Banbaro for example. After it does the vertical head slam, it will swing its head to the side. There is one point in space where if you keep aiming at that spot, your shots will connect with the head regardless of how the head moves. However, because the camera moves slightly with the monster’s movement, end up your shots are not actually going where you think you’re aiming at (or, rather, you’re not aiming at where you want to actually aim at).
I proposed to add a full unhinged aiming mode here so that we can truly aim like an FPS game: Add a full unhinged gyro mode and adjust how dodging works

Ye I agree. Compensation is really bad in MHNow. The amount of time I got hit while walking cause I was taking a turn and couldn’t see what’s going on is staggering

Normal bullet and spread bullet is the biggest issue that both are always do less damage due to range. When it reload and comes to spread bullet , the monster always side step or jump backward. My g10-3 legiana lbg only do 50% damage on 9* black diablos, now its 10-4 normal diablos also cant kill it (left 5-10% hp)
I also just realise how short the range on LBG spread shots is. Can you even reach Diablos wings with the spread shots for optimal damage?
