To give the player more control over their experience, bowguns should be given a way to more directly control the ammo type. This could be the “tap and hold” action for both heavy and light bowguns. Holding the screen would then manually empty the rest of the active clip and automatically load in the next ammo type.
現状/Current Status
Tapping and holding the screen on bowguns fires continuously, an action that can be easily replicated by rapidly tapping the screen.
If the user is stuck with an ammo type that requires distance or time to set up properly, they can be stuck trying to position themselves for 15-20 seconds, which is too costly in a 75 second hunt. Sometimes it could be better to just manually discard an ammo type that is unwanted.
I think this calls for the player to better understand and strategise how to overcome this issue and take the appropriate action to turn the situation around to their favour instead of banking on design changes, especially when there are many success cases of players performing well with the same weapon against the same monsters.
Different monsters will require different approach to make things work with the same tool. Some tools simply take more effort to adapt to different monsters, and this is only natural.
I think the most egregious case of this being necessary is with hbg pierce ammo. Pierce ammo requires being far away to be effective, so you should roll back to use it. The problem is that hbg rolls are so slow that the monster is still hugging you by the time you finish. It is impossible to make space, and be able to attack back, without either needing to dodge an incoming attack or dodge to simply create more space. Or you take a massive damage penalty and fire at close range.
Better to have the option to discard pierce ammo entirely, if need be, and cycle to the next ammo through manual reload.
