Change to bleeding edge so that rather than needing to perform 15 actions, it reapplies once you deal a certain threshold of MV. This is a problem because Bleeding edge is only good on very few weapon types that attack very fast. Dual blades can reapply Bleeding Edge in less than 5 seconds where Hammer will take nearly 20. This is a very cool and interesting skill and it’s very disappointing that it is only good if you play one of three weapons. Latent Power and Hellfire blight both do something similar already. Latent power takes 1 second off of the trigger time for every 100 MV worth of damage accumulated, and Hellfire reapplies in a similar way. Perhaps every 50-75mv take 5 actions off the trigger. Or something similar to that.
現状/Current Status
Bleeding Edge requires 15 actions to be performed before reapplying the status to you. Thus, making it favor very fast weapon types.
Fully agree. I think the skill is so cool but I cant use it at all because i simply dont play a fast weapon. If it takes 5 seconds to trigger on the fastest weapon, then that’s how long it should take on every weapon. I think reducing the number of actions based on the MV of the attack should also be considered.
This is normal. Not all skills would apply to every weapon or weapon type, so there’s no need to push for a cool-looking skill to apply to every weapon/weapon type.
Key thing is to look out for the things that apply to your chosen weapons/weapon types and focus on them.
While it is always desirable to have every skill apply to your chosen weapons/weapon types, we run the risk of “flattening” the dynamics and depth of a Monster Hunter game by making every skill applicable to everything. It will become stale at this point where the only thing to improve is to get a skill with bigger numbers and not consider for the mechanisms anymore. This will also mean there’s no need to build other weapon types since every skill works on every weapon type, which defeats the core design of Monster Hunter.
I understand not wanting builds to become to homogenized, but there are multiple skills in Rise that have different activation conditions or stat bonuses based on weapon type.
Bleeding Edge is already going to alienate players by having a negitive effect, the fact that it also only works well with certain weapons further limits its potential appeal.
If you know more about how bleeding works in MHNow, you’ll realize that more action counts you have during this ailment triggering way bigger damages when you take a hit.
Lesser action counts you have during the bleeding causing lower damages when you take a hit.
In the game mechanics and system wise, faster weapons actually taking more risks than slower weapons.
It is actually a trade off of more risks and negative effect that the faster weapons have.
To make it fair, you got a change how bleeding works to all weapon types before change the skill.
Nah, it won’t. It is already a common thing to not have skills apply to every weapon type. This new skill is only a turn-off for the players who desire the skill but doesn’t use the weapons that the skill applies to and cannot let it go.
