As more monsters are being added, it is a hassle to keep changing loadouts based on monsters weakness.
Suggestion: to allow players to assign a loadout for each monster so when we encounter one, it will automatically change to the loadout we assigned for that monster.
It got better when the number of loadouts was increased from 4 to 10. But I still feel we should be given more of them.
As it is now, I am using one loadout for each damage type. But that means I have the same loadout against Barroth and Legiana. And since Barroth does Water damage, and Legiana does Ice damage, I can’t really optimize any Water or Ice Resistances. So those are generally ignored.
Given that there are currently 24 different monster types, I would like for there to be 24 loadouts as well. And when a new monster type is introduced, I also want to get one more loadout. This will allow us to customize the equipment for each individual monster.
Additionally, given that we often get daily quests to kill monsters with a special type of weapon, it would also be nice to have an additional 9 loadouts. One for each weapon type.
Also, as it is no, I have to manually swap from one loadout to another each time I attack a monster. While this isn’t a problem, it is a hassle that I don’t feel is necessary. I feel that the object of the game should be to build equipment combinations, and to actually fight the monsters. Not to have to swap equipment for each fight. So I want to be able to link each loadout to a monster type. So when I attack that monster, the loadout will automatically change to the new loadout.

Optimizing equipment against monsters is impossible with too few loadouts.
And it is a hassle to swap loadouts for every monster I fight.
With the introduction of driftsmelt, we get many different skills based on the driftstones that we smelt. Some equipment are common amongst different loadouts.(e.g Azure Rathalos helm and Jyuratodus boots). Different loadouts may end up using different skills. For thunder set, i may end up with thunder attack on my helm and i’ll use that for Thunder loadout. However, if I switched it to black diablos bow loadout, I will have to manually switch the driftsmelt skill.
Another issue is that we use different loadouts for different monster. I would want to use a thunder loadout set for monsters weak to thunder, and other elements for the respective element-weak monsters. However, each time I would have to switch loadouts + change driftsmelt skill. Can we make use of the monster guide page to set up a default loadout?
e.g Set water loadout for Girros, Ice loadout for Diablos, etc. This way, we can tap the monster and save some time from changing loadouts.
After a hunt is done, i can tap the next monster and immediately the set that I want to use is there for me. Of course i should still have the option to switch it if i want to, but at least the default set is there already.

I don’t mind if the game merely “remembers” which loadout slot was used in a successful hunt against the monster and automatically select that loadout slot when starting a hunt.
However, there will be one problem: What if we want to try something different, or use a different loadout for the same monster type but of a lower strength?
For example, I am now using Pink Rathian Gunlance loadout for all monsters up to 7-stars, but would have a mixed use of this loadout and other primary loadouts when fighting the same monsters at 8-10 stars.
When playing solo and in group, I would also change to different loadouts.
If a default loadout is set and if it doesn’t differentiate between monsters of different strengths (which I think is an overkill and overcomplication in terms of convenience if this is made available), then it would be quite annoying if I have to keep swapping the loadout when I want to use different loadouts at different times for the same type of monster.
I think the key function to be implemented first is to save the driftsmelt skill choices to the respective loadout slots. This will at least bring the wardrobe experience back to how it was before the introduction of driftsmelt skills.
I am very supportive of this. I think the driftsmelt being saved to loadout would be tremendously useful for hunters that switch between weapon types.
For example I main both SnS and bows. On my bow sets my base skills are Focus 5 and Elemental Attack 4. With driftsmelt this can become Element Attack 5.
But this extra level of Elemental Attack is wasted on my SnS set since they are already Element Attack 5 with lock on. I would prefer to have Guard on my driftsmelt skill instead.
Therefore the save to loadout function would benefit people like me.
And it’s also less frustrating for other players on HATs and EDIs to not have to wait for me to reconfigure my driftsmelt skills.
It would save a lot of time if a player could toggle auto selection ar the loadouts. When entering the lobby the system could/should then automatically suggest the loadout which is most suitable for the monster.
