Shibuya Equipment and free to play

提案/Suggestion

Hello, I’m asking for a clarification on the exclusive Shibuya/Global Event equipment.
I think a statement on if this equipment will be available for free to play players (at a later date) would be in order. If it is paid only, please clarify this.

翻訳が大変かもしれませんがここに全て書いてあるかと思います。

It may be difficult to translate, but I think everything is written here.

Unfortunately it’s still not really clear enough. I just want them to say “yes it is paid only” or “we have plans for a later date”. That’s all i want to know, really, because I think locking non-cosmetic gear behind a paywall is a bad thing.

Unfortunately I’m pretty sure its paid only, nothing indicates otherwise so far, but it’s also not clear in being exclusive.

One thing I can say is that items labeled as LIMITED in this game have not been revived yet.

What decisions would it affect if the event items will not be released at a later date?

Are you going to go to Shibuya to participate in the event if the event items will not be released later?

Who knows what they planned. But for now, seems to be paid only

There is also a global event that awards them, but its paid only. So it would affect the purchase decision of people I imagine.

Myself? I strongly dislike locking content behind a paywall, if that is the case I will uninstall the game and leave a 1 star review. You can think thats drastic, but I hate what modern gaming has become because of stuff like this. Selling cosmetics and grind help etc is fine, but locking content is bad.

I have also contacted support about this, they gave me kind of a non-answer, in that there “are no plans, but we will forward it to the team”, and to listen for news.
I kinda doubt f2p will get it tbh. They have been good to f2p players so far but it seems they want our cash now to continue. And I have spent money on the game if anyone cares. I just think this is a bad way to go about the future of the game.

Hmm. Even when there’s no PvP element, you will get affected by things that don’t affect you?

I like to work towards a goal, that being good sets.

Either a game is truly f2p - meaning purchases are cosmetic/aides, or it its paid. This is turning the game from f2p to paid, in my eyes. That is not nice, if you ask me.

No games are truly “free”. “F2P” simply means “free to play”. There’s no cost to playing the game. That’s all that means.

It doesn’t mean that there cannot be content locked behind paywalls.

“Free to play” does not mean “all contents are available for free”. Even if such games exist, you will be paying with time and effort (which costs time) to unlock those content through painstaking grinds, so, again, it’s not “free”.

Are Nergigante, and the gold/silver Raths confirmed to not be released to the base game?

Those will come at a later date.

Yes, and I am fine with grind and time. Those things are achievable. If I could grind this equipment, I would have little issue. I’ve grinded 328 Daoras f2p to get a 10.5, I’m willing to sink time into this game. But this ends here now.

And some of the biggest games like League of Legends or Counterstrike are free to play. It’s doable.
Ofc f2p doesnt mean all content is available, but the games where it isnt arent the ones I want to play.

All opinions on this aside, I just want a clear statement from them. But I dont think we’ll get it, they need FOMO after all. I’m already disparaged by it and have been playing way less.

I agree that paywalling functional gear is a bad thing. However, my understanding is that this gear isn’t really designed for veterans in the first place. It is special catch-up gear designed specifically for newer players, so that they can enjoy the upcoming live event without needing the stronger gear that us long-time players have. If the developers do another major live event like this one, they will likely repurpose the gear for it (or at the very least, they really should).
