Elder Dragon Investigations should have 4 rows of 4 rewards upon slaying and 2 rows of 4 rewards upon repelling.
This would reward players with 8 or 16 monster parts in addition to part breaks and the multiplayer bonus reward
現状/Current Status
Currently your receive 4 or 8 monster parts in addition to part breaks and the multiplayer bonus reward
Compared to a hunt a thon with three of the same monster where you would receive 12 monster parts in addition to part breaks and the multiplayer bonus reward for each of said monster you clear.
For example hunting Teostra would reward around 10 parts, but doing a Hunt-A-Thon with 3 Bazelgeuse would reward around 18 parts, assuming at least one partbreak and the multiplayer bonus .
Considering that both Elder Dragon Investigations and Hunt-A-Thons are tied to the same cooldown the reward should be similar.
Keep in mind that the power of elder dragon equipment typically exceed that of any other large monsters you can find in Hunt-a-thons.
Also, the materials needed for a typical large monster equipment and an elder dragon equipment are also very different.
To expect EDI to drop more reward than what’s practically a 2-monster hunt (hence 8 basic rewards), you are basically ignoring all the design differences between the two distinct classes of large monsters and trivialising the rightful effort expected to get hold of these powerful equipment.

Yeah I always agree to ask more free stuff but for this I’m not sure. It would be meaningless to craft anything other than elder dragon weapons. Of course it doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy trying other weapons/build associations but you know I’m personally glad I still have these to max to 10 5/5 remaining because for this season there’s already nothing else to do

Off-topic: Chameleos is coming up! I can finally upgrade my Pukei bow
I’m too scared to craft poison weapons since I’ve read many hate comments about it on this forum lol
About the elder dragons to remain on topic I’m surprised Teostra first 2 materials are not doubled for this fire event.
Nah. It’s perfectly fine for soloing content. Ignore what others say. Key thing is that you enjoy the game. With the coming of Chameleos, this implies that the monsters that come next would probably be resistant to attacks (low HZV across the board) while weak to poison, which means you either spend a lot of time/precision in trying to break those hard-to-damage parts or use poison to help bring it down faster to secure a kill.
At the beginning, my only weapon was Pukei Bow and that didn’t stop me from hitting 10-star with it while also providing high damage output in breaking parts. I did invest in other weapons after I 10.5 Pukei Bow, but there’s literally no need to shun poison weapons. It entirely depends on how one uses them.
