Additional daily free item: Lucky Vouchers.
I think it will be nice if the chances of getting rare monster materials can be improved, even if it’s just a marginal improvement.
Since there is already a Hunting Knife item, this item’s effect is to improve the chances of getting rare rewards from the next hunt. This affects all “basic” reward slots in the hunt there are entirely because of the monster and not from other mechanisms. For example,
- If a hunter hunted a regular large monster solo without breaking any part, only the 4x Basic Reward slots will be affected by the voucher’s effect.
- If the hunter hunted a regular large monster in a group hunt in a Hunt-a-thon and the monster had all of its breakable body parts broken, then only the 4x Basic Reward slots and the Broken Part slots will be affected by the voucher’s effect. The extra Basic Reward slot from Hunt-a-thon and the Group Hunt Reward slot are not affected as they already have their own separate drop rate mechanism.
- If the hunter slayed an Elder Dragon at an Elder Dragon Interception, only the 8x Basic Reward slots and any Broken Part Reward slots will be affected. Group Hunt Reward is not affected.
- The voucher also does not act on non-monster material drops, such as Driftstone/Driftgem drops, Exchange Token drops, and Alloy Armor Ticket drops.
The reward slots affected by the Lucky Voucher must be highlighted with an obvious visual element so as to distinguish the affected reward slots from the unaffected reward slots.
In order to use this item, the player has to consume it from the Items section before the hunt, similar to the Steaks. The Voucher’s effect lasts indefinitely until the next successful hunt (or at least a Repel in Elder Dragon Interceptions).
Let the Lucky Vouchers be issued to players one per day automatically, just like the Palico Paintballs (at 5am local time).
If you can have more than 1 Lucky Voucher at any time and you are at maximum capacity at the time of receiving a new voucher, you will not receive it. The maximum capacity will be up to the developer’s discretion as a balance is needed.
Alternative effect suggestion:
- Make it so that the first two Basic Reward slots are guaranteed to be at least of Rarity 2 and above (no R1 materials in the first two Basic Reward slots). The rest of the reward slots remain unchanged.
