提案/Suggestion
Introduce a driftsmelt with lock-on, this skill is necessary for farming parts but it also makes almost every build less than optimal, having the choice to put it on a specific armor part will unlock a plethora of better builds with a more optimal dps.
Put the option to cycle through monster body parts without having the need to lock off then lock on again after breaking a body part, this way we won’t need to kill a monster by accident.
Fix the lock on skill on gunlance. If I’m using gear with lock on and losing dps to be able to target a specific body part with wyrmstake combo I expect it to work. It feels like a waste when fighting agile monsters like zinogre, I have targeted a body part by using the wyrmstake combo which now it never hits the target I’m locked on to even though I started the long animation already because the monster moved slightly to the left so now I will hit the hindlegs instead of the tail while my character is locked in animation with no way to course correct, it feels like a waste of a skill slot.
Also most of the monsters have parts that we can’t target, like the body, back, Wings, please make them targetable.
You’re not losing DPS by using Lock On skill. Having the ability to target a specific body part, such as weak spots, is a boost to DPS, not a loss.
Without Lock On skill, you’ll likely be hitting spots that are ~100% HZV. With Lock On, you can focus your hits on a weak spot that has 130% HZV or more. That is a 30% DPS boost for just trading 1 skill point. You can hardly get this level of buff with 1 point into any skill that doesn’t rely on very specific conditions to activate.
Don’t forget that the Lock On skill is balanced against builds that do not use Lock On and those who play using Gyro. It’s not there just as an “auto-aim setting in the options”.

I still stand by the idea of having a lock on skill as a driftsmelt, other games have charms for example, since we don’t know if they will add charms then driftsmelt is next best thing to suggest.
Oh yes, I’m not disputing the request for having it as a Driftsmelt. But it would be quite OP to have Lock On on any piece of equipment because that will break the builds almost entirely.
Build fluidity and flexibility is a type of powercreep. Being able to have any skill in any slot will simply nullify the “gameplay” about builds.
Don’t expect this to come any time soon, if ever.
