Standardize Armor Set Names

提案/Suggestion

Rename “Kaiser Set” to “Teostra Set”. Teostra armor is the only monster armor set called by a unique name “Kaiser Set”, while all other monsters armors are named “[Monster Name] Set” even if they have unique names like “Lumu Phantasm” or “Vangis” (Nightshade Lumu and Deviljho armor respectively)

現状/Current Status

Teostra armor is the only monster armor set called by something other than "[Monster Name] set.

What’s the need to standardise the naming of an armor set?

And, Kaiser has always been the name of Teostra armor since the beginning. It’s canon.

And Deviljho has been Vangis since its introduction, but why is the Vangis Set called Deviljho Set in MHN? Either use the unique names, or don’t, but pick one.

I see. It just seems strange to me to call this out for something that has no functional impact or a chance to mislead.

It’s understood anyway, be it using the unique name or the monster name for the equipment set. As long as you understand, what’s the need to standardise?

On the contrary, I think it would help players unfamiliar with the series see at a glance which monster is tied to the set.

Setting a standard also makes it easier when it comes to future sets - will Rajang armor be called the “Golden Set”, or “Rajang Set”? Should we just flip a coin to decide, or take a vote on which sounds nicer?

Ah. Yes, this is a good reason for the standardisation.

Personally, I think if they would just go with what has always been the case for the main games would be better, since that would stay true to the original flavour of the game.

That way, if any of the MHNow players would later start playing the main games, they wouldn’t feel “confused” all over again, especially when they need to search for information related to specific equipment.

Sorry, took me a while to realise your real intention as I never really bothered looking at the armor set names. I recognise mostly by the equipment thumbnails and the order they are sorted in in the equipment screen, so I don’t actually memorise by the set names and therefore the set names never bothered me.
