Question about 1st Anniversary announcement

Hi Niantic,

I have a question regarding the news article for the Monster Hunter Now 1st Anniversary event.

In the Event Details, the 5th point reads:

You will be able to select the following monster subspecies in the Monster Tracker, and they will also have a low chance of appearing in the field:
Pink Rathian, Azure Rathalos, Black Diablos, Coral Pukei-Pukei.
*The number of hunts required to discover these subspecies is higher than usual.
*After the event ends, you will no longer be able to select them in the Monster Tracker.

  1. Does this point mean that “if you select a specific monster subspecies in the Monster Tracker, the selected monster subspecies will also appear in the field before you unlock them in the respective Urgent Quest”?

  2. Does this also mean that the part about “low chance of appearing in the field” will not make a difference for players who have unlocked the selected monster subspecies through Season Story 3 progression? Or will it compound with the low base rate of appearance to make the selected monster subspecies appear more often for players who have completed the relevant Urgent Quest and also selected the same monster subspecies in the Monster Tracker?

  3. Or this point means that “the monster subspecies will appear in low numbers during the event regardless of your urgent quest completion and monster tracker specification”?

Please advise.

Hi @Stampeder
sorry for the delay in getting back to your question.

  1. Or this point means that “the monster subspecies will appear in low numbers during the event regardless of your urgent quest completion and monster tracker specification”?

That’s correct.
Only during the event, these subspecies can be selected in the Monster tracker and will also appear in low numbers in the fields for hunters with HR11 and above regardless of the Story Quest status. Please let us know, if anything else is unclear. Thanks.
