Add the option to track Black Diablos, Pink Rathian, Azure Rathalos.
This new feature is great! We will all definitely love the Monster Tracker, but please make it complete, the game is already months old enough to exclude these monsters from the Tracker.
We understand that these subspecies are considered rare in Monster Hunter Now, but if we currently have the option of finding them in the field (They are quite rare) why not add them to the Monster Tracker? In justification of the rarity of the subspecies, add a greater requirement for monsters to hunt in the Monster Tracker (Maybe 10 or 15, the quantity does not matter, the important thing is to be able to access them as an alternative to hunting in the field).
When the Monster Tracker feature was first added, it did not include support for rare species: notably any of the three subspecies that have been granted field access as well as Deviljho and Zinogre. A request was put in at the time to try to find some way to incorporate at least some of these monsters. With the release of Season 2, will any of the “pre Season 1” (Black, Pink, Azure, and Zinogre) monsters finally be added to the Monster Tracker? And maybe with the eventual release of Season 3, will Deviljho and Coral Pukei Pukei (the limited monsters added during Season 1) get added?
At this point the older variants should be in tracker. Realistically speaking, they were around for a year, give or take, so late game players already have everything they want anyway and just want to farm medal, meanwhile early game players will benefit from stronger gear. Maybe exclude BD until he gets dropped off the meta throne
Hmm. The problem with this idea is it invalidates a rare monster’s rarity. I agree some monsters should be available that are rare, like deviljho, Zinogre, Mizu and presumably Rajang, because rare 6 drops are so difficult to hunt down when you have a life, but a variant isn’t rare anymore if you can just track them, and should be rare unless an event is featuring them. The hunt a thon rhetoric of using limited opportunities to face rare monster goes out the window if you leave them in tracking always. On that topic, maybe it should be allowed to track rare monsters during events in which they’re “abundantly” available, so that people who can’t reach many monsters can still participate and make daily progress. Like, the new monsters for the first anniversary will be available to track during the event, including coral pukei. Maybe this should be the standard going forward.
Given that older limited monsters are already available on the field, it makes a lot of sense to include them in the monster tracker at a higher number of hunts to unlock. I have been an advocate for literally this exact functionality ever since the feature released in March. Some people do not fully max the tracker every day. I myself only average 3-4 from it. This likely equates to 2-3 “free” limited monsters per day. Furthermore, not all hunt a thons feature limited monsters, and not all players have convenient or reasonable access to hunt a thons. Your reasons are correct for why this would have a negligible effect on urban players but it would become a significant quality of life feature for rural players. Furthermore, this would allow limited spawns to show up as the daily hunt target, which could be quite interesting.
