PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do something about the app instability. It has been with us from Day One and although it has got better, down from dozens of times per day, to between half a dozen and a dozen, it is still the plague of the game.

I lost so much time in so many hunts over the carnival weekend when the app crashed the moment that I hit “Ready to hunt” and had to reload the game and rejoin the hunt. It also crashes regularly when the hunt is about to complete, so that I don’t get my reward for my efforts and often potions, and quite often also crashes when the rewards are being given out.

C’mon guys, it’s been a year now, and although it has improved, it is still the bane of the game. Three of us hunt together, on different iPhones, with different OS versions, and it is the same for all of us.

There needs to be an option in the settings, ideally switched on by default, to provide anonymous crash data. Anything that can help to improve the app stability has to be worth doing.

  • Restart your device
  • Reinstall the app
  • Close apps running in the background
  • Set the app’s graphics quality to ‘Low’ from settings
  • Download all assets from settings
  • Update your device’s OS
  • Use other connection (4G, 5G, Wi-Fi)
  • (If the device is hot) Take a break from playing to cool down the device

None of the suggestions work. The problem is with the one thing that is consistent between all three devices: the app.

And version 90.0 seems to be astoundingly unstable. Both yesterday and the day before yesterday all three of us that hunt together had the app crash - all three of us - ON THE SAME HUNT!

For all three of us, the app routinely crashes between half a dozen and a dozen times PER DAY, and normally at the most inopportune times, such as when starting a hunt or when a hunt has concluded, but the awards have not yet been given. So you have used your Special and taken the damage but not got the reward for which you worked so hard.

There REALLY needs to be an option in the settings “Send crash data to Niantic”. Probably there isn’t because it would overload the servers… :confused:

Indeed, it’s strange that this feature, which is commonly seen in other apps, doesn’t exist in MHN.
