It really varies from person to person.
I think I got 6 Reverse Scales and 3 Mutations for a total of 91 monsters in yesterday’s mass outbreak, but
that’s not enough to make a definitive judgment — some people had much worse luck while others got way more, so it’s hard to draw any conclusions from the numbers.
I get that people say it drops more often with that number of kills, but I just don’t think that’s the case, you know? ![]()
My friend hunted 140 monsters and only got about 20 Dragon’s Wrath and 5 mutated materials, so we were talking about how it does seem to drop more often. ![]()
With mass appearances, a lot of rare materials drop.
So next week the drop rates will probably get pretty stingy, huh.
I do think they’re keeping an eye on controlling the material supply, though.
Well, they’ll probably balance the drops just right by the time the Vanguard Battle starts.
There’s definitely some mysterious trust in the devs about that.
I took down 146 monsters yesterday, with 8 Wicked and 6 Mutated. Well, it’s just luck, I guess.
I’ve come to think that no amount of arguing about whether the drop rates are rigged is going to change anything, so I just have to keep hunting.
149 kills for just one mutation (2) (tears)
Nothing spawned for over 45 minutes — it reminded me of that big losing streak last Monday.
That’s a fair point
Hunt a little bit every day
Hunt in bulk when a mass outbreak occurs
If the number of hunts (roughly the same as the number of materials obtained) is the same, the former approach should be the more profitable one
Focusing on it during a good event
apparently is close to the state of catching up on what you’ve missed
More people tend to raise the issue because they assume it’s definitely been tweaked to be a disadvantage for them.
Either way, the conclusion of “just hunt it anyway” doesn’t change.
Mutant Mizutsune moves around a lot, so having Evade Distance Up makes it less stressful to chase it, which is why I recommend it.
I equipped three Attack 100s to upgrade my Tropical Cannon, a.k.a. Pineapple, but I’m a beginner when it comes to weapons and I barely ever use the Lance, so I have no idea which upgrade would be best. Still, I’ve been hoarding a ton of Rare 6 tickets, so I figured I might as well use them and also unlocked Critical 10%. I’m not even sure if raising the element to 150 would make any difference, so is it fine if I just sell all the tickets from now on? My storage is always overflowing every day, and it’s a pain.
It doesn’t sell for much anyway, so I think it’s fine to unlock the element too.
I wouldn’t use it in the current meta regardless.
I was casually doing Mass Occurrence quests and thought, “Hmm, Mitsune is pretty strong. And there’s a lot of Zenny too.” Before I knew it, I was doing Consecutive Hunting in the same location as the Mass Occurrence. A Rank 9 monster showed up, and since my HP wasn’t decreasing, I thought something was off and paid attention, which is when I realized.
You can run into things like this if you’re not paying attention.
I think I accidentally pressed something when eating meat partway through. Since I’m playing solo, it took me a while to notice ![]()
I think the Shriek of the Three-Tailed Fox can be handled at level 2, right?
I was messing with the compass earlier and noticed something — the area that actually registers a tap doesn’t seem to line up with the mark on the screen. It feels like the hitbox is shifted slightly upward.
It can be prevented with Earplugs 1.
Oh, then I’ll rework my gear. Thanks!
I was just thinking — can new players even clear the Season Story at Star 7 these days?
I mean, even though Regios has a consistent Thunder weakness, every monster in there is a tough fight, and the Jin Ouga Subspecies is top-tier strong with no emergency HP correction, so it feels really brutal.
