Steps

  1. Have 2 players add each other as friends.
  2. Player A mark a Tzitzi-Ya-Ku from a Desert habitat.
  3. Player A host the marked Tzitzi-Ya-Ku as Friend Link hunt.
  4. Player B join the Friend Link hunt from Player A.
  5. Observe that the terrain displayed to Player B is Swamp instead of Desert, while it showed correctly as Desert to Player A (the host).
  6. This gives a false impression that the monster was marked from a Swamp habitat and can lead to wrong decisions that cost a limite resource when Player B was looking for large monsters marked from a specific habitat type and decided to join the hunt thinking that it was from the habitat type they were looking for when it is actually not.

Expectation

  1. The lobby and arena terrain should show the correct terrain the monster is marked from when it was marked via any type of paintball to guest players joining a Friend Link hunt.

I just joined a 9-star Seregios through a Friend Link invite.

The terrain was shown as Desert, but it’s actually from the Swamp habitat.

@Stampeder
Thank you for your detailed report regarding the discrepancy in habitat display during Friend Link.

The information you have provided has been shared with the development team for further investigation. If there is any additional information we can share on this, we’ll do so on this thread.

@Stampeder
Thank you for your patience.

We have checked with the development team and confirmed that this is intended. Each monster is designed with its own set of habitat types, and the habitat shown reflects those attributes rather than the original marking location when joining a group hunt.

Please note that when the monster is hunted, it will be counted based on the habitat where it was originally marked. However, we understand that this behavior may affect quests that require hunting monsters in specific habitat types. Your feedback will be taken into consideration for future improvements.

Thank you for your understanding.

I see. I thought I can at least use this information to tell which Friend Link hunt’s monster is from which habitat and therefore allow me to choose which Friend Link hunt to participate in for the purpose of furthering the quests that require me to hunt a large monster in specific habitats.

But if this terrain information is not accurate, and that there’s no way to tell the terrain from the invite list, then… it’s a missed opportunity for allowing players to make good decisions.

Please consider making the lobby/arena terrain match the monster’s marked location if the terrain information is available, and also make the terrain information available in the list of group hunt invites, similar to how it is for the list of marked/tracked monsters. Thank you!
