Allow thrown insect to retain increased powder damage from charged state
現状/Current Status
Mighty powder insect glaive: Increased powder damage from charged state is lost when throwing the insect.
If intentional, seems misleading as the charge goes into the insect before we throw it, would imagine the bug should stay charged and retain increased damage.
Is the dust explosion damage from the Dust-type Awakened Insect Strike lower than a regular dust explosion?
I always thought that was just how it worked, but now that you mention it, it doesn’t feel entirely off.
I can understand the logic since the order is dispelling the enhanced state → attacking.
But other types of kinsect don’t lose their Kinsect Bonus after being sent out to perform an Awakened Kinsect Attack. For example, Pukei Glaive’s Kinsect Bonus is Stamina Bonus, which grants increased Max Stamina while in a charged state. Sending out the Kinsect in Awakened Kinsect Attack won’t cause it to lose the increased stamina bonus until it finished the attack and returned to the hunter.
For Zinogre Glaive, it’s Kinsect Bonus is Mighty Powder Bonus, with Power of powder set with Awakened Kinsect Attack increases. If the charged state bonus remains until the Kinsect returns to the hunter and the powder explosions occur before the kinsect returns to the hunter, which means the powder explosions should have both effects active, the expectation is that the power of the powder explosions should be at least the same, if not more. In fact, based on the phrasing of the Kinsect bonus description alone, the default expectation is that the damage of the powder attacks should be higher than non-awakened powder attacks. However, the powder damage of Zinogre Glaive’s Awakened Kinsect Attack while in charged state is currently lower than its regular non-awakened kinsect attack while in charged state. Based on Melon’s video, it was 7840 regular vs 6634 awakened. That’s more than a 15% drop in damage per explosion.
The description of Insecticide Strike is different from that of the Dust type, and the damage increase per Enhancement Level is clearly not reflected, so I think it’s a bug.
I tested it in the Training Room, and both the damage from the bug hitting and the dust damage were all the same value, from no Enhancement up to the Enhanced state. Also, it’s lower than the damage of a normal Dust attack performed in the Enhanced state (the same ratio as the thread’s author has been showing).
This is just a guess, but I think the additional effect of Heavy Blast Dust in Insecticide Strike is also not being reflected.
