Gunlace doesn’t seem to be able to kill most 10 star monsters on trial quest especially if they are the variants version, most other weapons due to their elemental affinity they do consistent damage but for gunlance you cannot do the necessary damage to kill a monster with shelling artillery builds because it’s a set amount of damage and it doesn’t scale to the monsters hp and only some skills upgrade the damage due to them being non elemental it makes them almost useless against 10* monsters, the only option players would have is melee combo because it triggers elemental damage plus wyrmstake, which take a long time to trigger and most 10* are aggressive, making the chance for a full wyrmstake combo a coin toss even if you perfect dodge. Gunlance falls off drastically against 10* monsters when fought solo and because of these issues it needs to be reworked. Either scale the shelling damage to the monsters hp pool or make the wyrmstake trigger instant after a perfect dodge what I mean is remove the over head swing from the combo and let us go straight to the wyrmstake attack or do like monster hunter frontier and introduce elemental shelling again this game is about dimensional monsters so it’s not out of the realm of possibility to have these weapons.
