Hello, I might as well be 50 years old at this point and my eyesight is blurring in a typical manner. I would like to play Monster Hunter Now with my nieces and nephews. I want to promote games that have an exercise component. I do not care for the “pokemon” concept so this game is very welcome. I spend money on gems regularly and plan on sponsoring gem purchases for the children in my extended family. That means that my playing is going to be powering purchase for the game at a “whale” level even if I am not doing this through my main account.
However it is very difficult for me to distinguish the monster icons on the map. The icons are very complex shapes and the colors run together. When I click on a monster that is too far away it shows a small text message “Too far away to access”. This is an opportunity to also show a larger version of the monster icon. Just have it hover for a moment over the “Too far away to access” text. This will be a way for those with blurry vision to see clearly what the icon is.
This would make your interface far easier to use for those with low acuity sight. Many people who are older like myself are paying customers. And this issue is problematic enough that I will quit the game once I find a game that does not give me headaches do to squinting to makeout details on a map. As it stands frequently find a I must take a screenshot of the map and then zoom in on the screenshot to identify the monster icons.
I see plenty of complaints on this forum about features that are removed because they discourage payed play. I am already paying and generally happy with the experience. Please fix this.
More importantly please begin to include low-sight users in your testing. You should also be including blind people and tuning your audio so that blind users can still play. I doubt you will make much money at that… but it is still the right thing to do.
You will make more money if you improve the app for low-sight people, because it will allow for whole families to play more effectively together. I doubt you will be able to easily measure this impact, because my nieces and nephews have different last names from mine. You will never be able to tell that I am the one buying their gems. But older users = family users and family users = long time paying players.
