問題の詳細/Issue Details
Steps
- Disable Adventure Sync.
- Start the driftsmelting process for any driftstone/driftgem.
- Leave the app running in the foreground, then walk at least 500m or whatever distance that’s enough for it to be registered for the driftsmelting process.
- Check the driftsmelting progress for the driftstone/driftgem selected at Step 2.
- Observe that no progress was made for the selected driftstone/driftgem (e.g. 0.0 / 5.0km)
- Enable Adventure Sync.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4.
- Observe that progress was made for the selected driftstone/driftgem.
Expected
- Distance should still be counted for driftsmelting progression when player is actively playing the game while Adventure Sync is disabled. Adventure Sync is meant for background syncing, so it shouldn’t have an impact on player’s progression while the player is actively playing the game and walking around.
その他の情報/Other Information
Restarting the app doesn’t resolve the issue.
@Stampeder
Thank you for your report regarding driftsmelting when Adventure Sync is off.
We’ve reviewed this case with our team and confirmed that the distance will not be recorded even if the game is running in the foreground when Adventure Sync is off.
However, we are considering to record the distance even if Adventure Sync turned off when the game running in the foreground. If there is any additional information we can share on this, we’ll do so on this Forum so we appreciate it if you could keep an eye on this.
Do feel free to post on the Forum if you’ve noticed anything else.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

Hi @NianticModKKI,
Thank you for the quick response! I will leave this ticket open until I see the official announcement, if any.
A quick question: Palico will not mark monsters when Adventure Sync is disabled while the game is running in the foreground and the player is walking around, is that correct? I’ve read the support article and this seems to be intended.
@Stampeder
Thanks for your response.
Here are the current conditions when Adventure Sync is turned off:
- Palico will still mark monsters if the game is running in the foreground
- Distance for driftsmelting will not be recorded even if the game is running in the foreground
Feel free to reach out again if you have any other questions or comments.
Thank you for your understanding.
I see. Thank you for the confirmation, @NianticModKKI!
In this case, I would also like to add on that it appears that Palico is also not marking monsters when the game is running in the foreground while Adventure Sync is disabled.
Prior to making the post, I have been walking around for 2 hours and my Palico didn’t mark a single monster. After I enabled Adventure Sync, my Palico marked 2 monsters within 20 minutes of walking.
I don’t think this is a coincidence that the Palico would incidentally not mark anything for 2 hours of active playing, dotted with periods of not hunting as I walked towards the next monster some distance away. I kept the game running in the foreground all the while so as to contribute to the driftsmelt progress (which unfortunately did not progress).
Please take a look at this issue too
@Stampeder
Thank you for your reply.
We’ve also shared the information you provided regarding the Palico Paintballs with our team. We’ll make sure to keep you updated for any possible information or workarounds for this issue.
Again, thank you for your report!
