Split area into smaller boundaries of biomes, to allow hunter have more chanelces to meet the quest targeted monsters, especially those cannot be captured by Palico
現状/Current Status
The current biome configuration is too large (~1km and more), which is difficult for those mainly walking on hunting under such a hot weather.

They are still individual grids; they just all happen to be of the same terrain for the day, and adjacent grids with the same terrain type will not show the boundaries between them, but that does not make them a single grid.
If you use a mapping tool that displays S2 Cells at L14 grid size, you’ll see where the grid boundaries are.
The game does not appear to have any kind of algorithm that would cause the terrain chosen for the day to have any kind of preference according to the actual geography of the real world—it’s basically just RNG 1/3 of a chance for any grid to be any of the 3 types of terrain (see https://community.monsterhunternow.com/t/stuck-in-the-desert-biome/28571/6).
Thanks for the explanation, but I am asking for a smaller grid so the “random” algorithm can be less impacted for those in an area with a whole desert.
There isn’t any conflicts to keep RNG and make a better mechanisms at the same time.
Hi, that’s what I’m saying—the current configuration isn’t 1km.
Based on your screenshot, the grid size is about 620m by 616m:
(North pointing up)
They just happen to be all deserts and therefore look like a single grid but they are actually not.
The nature of RNG simply led several grids to be of the same habitat and therefore looked bigger than what they actually are.
But, after seeing this and you still wish for even smaller grids, then please ignore me.
I only wish to point out that the grid sizes are different depending on where you are on Earth. To change the grid size is going to impact the entire world, not just where you are.
In Singapore, the grid size is roughly 644m x 515m, more like a regular rectangle than the slanted squares in Hong Kong region.
If we’re going to have smaller grids, the next size down will be a quarter of whatever we have. This will have the impact of having many smaller grids with different monsters, and you may end up having to walk even more because of the fragmented distribution of the desired habitats.
Also, the large gathering points will have to be reshuffled and the HAT/EDI nodes will also need to be reworked, and we may not like what they would implement if this is to come to pass.
