提案/Suggestion
As everyone else has been saying elsewhere, the whole driftsmelting system needs a complete overhaul. However, Mysterious Driftstone C really is the cherry on top of the cake.
“We, the players” got Dragon Attack on Mysterious Driftstone A (not me: I smelted dozens of the things and didn’t get a single one).
“We, the players” got Partbreaker on Mysterious Driftstone B (not me: I smelted dozens of the things and didn’t get a single one).
And considering how much everyone is crying out for the things that everyone uses, but that you can’t currently smelt, such as Focus or Lock-On, Mysterious Driftstone C would have been the perfect opportunity to have given us the chance of smelting those skills.
But what did we get? A combined Azure-Crimson-Amber-Cyan driftstone that is of no use to anyone. It really is a golden opportunity royally squandered.
From what I understand, the chance of getting one of the yellow skills as a reward for your five kilometres of hard graft is about 3%. For me it is much much less (not only for Mysterious Driftstones A and B, but also for the regular ones), so someone else must be getting more than that.
Mysterious Driftstone C gives all five of the elements as yellow skills, but throws in all of the other worthless so-called “skills” as well, to dilute the mix. So if the chance of getting a yellow skill on a regular driftstone is only 3% - of which everyone primarily only wants the element anyway, so the chance of that is 1% - then the chance of you getting the one that you want from Mysterious Driftstone C is only a fifth of 3%, i.e. 0.6%. So Mysterious Driftstone C is worth barely more than half of a regular coloured driftstone.
Couple that with the fact that you cannot transfer smelts between armour pieces and that you have to choose the armour piece on which you want to smelt before you start walking, the chance of actually getting the skill that you want attached to the armour piece that you want is even less.
At least, with the ordinary driftstones, you know that the 3% chance of getting one of the yellow skills gives you a 1 in 3 chance of getting the element, so a 1 in 100 chance of getting the thing that you want, after having walked your five kilometres.
1% chance from a regular Driftstone is still effectively zero chance, but it is a lot less close to zero than your chance of getting what you want from Mysterious Driftstone C.
現状/Current Status
Mysterious Driftstone C duplicates all of the regular driftstones, plus Mysterious Driftstone A, so the chance of getting what you want on the armour piece that matches it is virtually zero and less even than the regular driftstones.
