Following up on your inquiry, we would like to ask the following for further investigation.

・Do you have any registered friends in our other applications or games? (e.g. Pokemon Go, Pikmin Bloom, etc.)
*If you’re currently not playing those apps, could you please try logging in, delete any existing friends, and check if you then can add the 650th friend in Monster Hunter Now?

I am also having the same issue. This is a brand new account, only for playing monster hunter now, no other previous Niantic or Scopely Explore games account.

Thank you for your report that you are experiencing the same issue.

Our team is currently looking into this, but we have been unable to reproduce it on our end. As a possibility, this may be occurring because a friend on your list deleted their Monster Hunter Now account while their other accounts still remain. However, we have forwarded your report to our team once more for further investigation.

I am having a similar issue. According to my friend list on https://my.nianticlabs.com/account I have 645 friends across Niantic games but I cannot add any more. The maximum is supposed to be 650 across games, so I should have space for 5 more.

My list has been stuck for months (I raised it to support in app in May 2026, never heard anything back). I have recently removed a couple of friends and added a couple, but it has all been 1out/1 in, the total friends I am able to have does not change.

Upon checking our system, we confirmed that your account has already reached the maximum limit of 650 friends. However, the friend count can sometimes be delayed or displayed incorrectly in certain situations. This caused a discrepancy between the displayed number and your actual friend count, preventing you from adding new friends.
