My wife and I have been playing this lately and something I’m curious about is if she and I have the same monster on our map in the same spot that isn’t an event and we group hunt it, is it intended do disappear from the other persons map? We’ve had this happen a few times and if she clicks the monster in her screen and group hunt it, the same monster on my field/screen also goes away even though I hadn’t clicked on mine yet

If both of you have the same progression, irregardless which one of you started the hunt and the other joined, after it is defeated, it will be removed from both of your map. Even if there are other hunters who are also the same as you, called for Join Hunt, you and your spouse will also not be able to receive this invitation or join the hunt.
This is to prevent exploitation of hunting the same monster with multiple players.

Dang, that kinda sucks but I guess it makes sense. I wasn’t sure if that was an intended thing or if our games kept glitching out somehow. Thanks for the answer
