Melee weapons / group hunt rework to prevent 'melee dead game' feeling

提案/Suggestion

Please limit group hunts to a maximum of two Bowgun users per party.
Alternatively, rework melee weapon defense/survivability to be closer to the mainline Monster Hunter games, so players have more incentive to use melee weapons.
Most of the time, I end up as the only melee player with three Bowgun users. This creates several problems:

  • The monster constantly runs in different directions as it targets ranged players, forcing melee players to keep chasing it.
  • The lack of weapon variety makes hunts feel repetitive and less interesting.
  • Parts are much harder to break, especially against Elder Dragons.

This significantly dilutes the multiplayer experience, especially for the only melee player in the party. Better weapon balance or matchmaking that prevents parties from being dominated by Bowguns would make group hunts much more enjoyable and diverse.

現状/Current Status

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find players using other weapon types because so many players have moved almost entirely to Bowguns.

An ON/OFF feature might be nice.

For players who switch weapons depending on the monster type or ★, it’s annoying when they come with a melee weapon that can’t lock onto wings, especially for monsters like Legiana where you want to break them.

・Further increase the attack power of melee weapons

・Expand the range in which melee weapon close-range attacks trigger and increase the movement distance during close-range attacks

We want to positively guide players toward using melee weapons by improving “the feel of using melee weapons” and “the advantages of using melee weapons”

As for the actual implementation, we added a weapon called Rose Assault, which is an easy-to-use, incredibly powerful, and safe option, so I’m not sure what they were thinking

This is slightly off-topic, but I think the player base for melee weapons would grow if the feel of the “Lock-On” curse, which is used by all melee weapons, were improved.

・Accurate attacks on lock-on body parts

・A feature that allows you to start a hunt with the mutated part of a mutated monster already locked on, etc.

If we stick to the main topic, adding a sorting function for matchmaking would be the most straightforward solution.

No matter how much you push for close combat, the numbers won’t increase.
They are casual players.

They exist merely to create the illusion of fighting while cheering from a safe distance.
Even if they wielded melee weapons, they wouldn’t approach the monster; they would retreat to the edge of the area and cheer from there.

Unfortunately, we cannot reduce the number of casual players.
Excluding new players would prevent the game from evolving.
