While my area has no problem finding hunters, the problem is of a slightly different nature: there are hunters nearby, but they don’t join the hunt.
There are several reasons that I can think of why they don’t join the hunt, but I’m not complaining about those reasons.
The target of this “complaint” is that the “# hunters nearby” is not a reliable indicator of who are nearby and available to hunt a particular monster.
I have previously suggested in the old forums to:
- Make it so that only hunters who can still hunt the target monster will show up in the number of hunters nearby.
- Make it so that the host can see how many invites have been sent out to the nearby hunters while waiting for nearby hunters to join.
First point will help us to decide whether or not to wait for that 10 hunters who may or may not join the hunt. If they are not joining the hunt, usually because they have already hunted the monster, then don’t show me that there are 10 hunters nearby because none of them can receive my invite anyway. Don’t waste time waiting for no one.
Second point is to help the host understand how many of the available hunters have actually received their invite (as indicated by the “Join hunt” button appearing on their field map). If they are in the menus, they obviously will not have seen the invitation and thus are not considered to have been invited.
Also, I have recently suggested to #indicate which monster is being hosted. This will help hunters know which monster is being targeted and whether they want to join that one or host their own one for better rewards (upgrading the monster difficulty) or greater success rate (lowering the monster difficulty). I believe this will help hunters decide whether to join the hunt or not and encourage hunters of different strengths and story progression to work together in group hunts.
I hope the barriers to hunting in groups can be removed as much as possible so that players can enjoy hunting with others without worrying about causing unhappiness.
