Helping two Friends with same type marked monster

提案/Suggestion

I do not know if this Is a choose of the developers, anyway could you evaluate if One can participate in both Hunters?
NOTE: similar behaviour hapoens for normal Monster.

現状/Current Status

If you participate in a Hunter via QR code of a friend marked Monster and Just After a second friend has the same Monster as a marked one and you participate via QR code for helping him, you can not access beccuse the system writer “the Monster has bene already killed”.

If you’re referring to the scenario of:

  1. Player A and B are seeing the exact same monster on the field map at the exact same spawn point (in other words, if Player A hunted it and then Player B opens a group hunt for it and Player A won’t see the group hunt invitation),
  2. and both Players marked the same monster,
  3. then Player A hosts the hunt for that monster from Player A’s paintball list and Player C joins it and that monster is slain successfully while Player C is in the hunt,
  4. then Player B hosts the hunt for that monster from Player B’s paintball list and Player C tries to join it, Player C will not be able to join because the monster in question is the exact same monster.
  5. It is equivalent to point 1, where if Player A had hosted the monster instead and Player C joined the hunt for that monster and both players slain it successfully, and later Player B hosts the same monster, Player C will not see it.

This is intended behaviour. Marking a monster doesn’t duplicate it. It simply allows the player to “bring it somewhere else” to hunt later. If you cannot hunt the same field monster twice, you also cannot hunt the same marked monster twice, since a marked monster is just a “portable” field monster.

Thanks for your answer. This apply also for marked Monster collected by the familiar? I mean two players in the same zone can obtain from a familiar two Monsters that in fact are the same and a third player can help only the First friend using QR code.

Yes, if the Palico from two different players happens to mark the exact same monster, it applies too, because they’re technically the same field monster—just accessed differently.

Imagine you have a physical voucher that has a barcode on it. If someone took a photo of it and then share the barcode with another person, and that person redeemed the voucher using the barcode in that image, your real voucher becomes invalid because the code itself is already redeemed. Similar idea. Just that in this game, everyone gets to kill a monster just ONCE, regardless of what method you accessed the monster with.

Suppose a monster has the unique ID “12345”.

  1. Player A marks the monster.
  2. Player B also marked the same monster.
  3. Player A hosts the monster and hunted it with Player C. Players A and C are now deemed to have hunted the monster with the unique ID “12345”.
  4. Player B now hosts the monster and try to let Player C join. The game will deny Player C because Player C has already hunted a monster with the unique ID “12345”.

The same applies to Palicos, just that Players and Palicos don’t see the same “map”. Palicos will “see” a different set of monsters on the map, depending on what the player has access to.
