Move “scan QR code to hunt monster” to “Join hunt” on main screen

提案/Suggestion

We have “join hunt” with HATs on main screen. We have “join hunt” with EDI on main screen. We have “join hunt” with nearby hunters on main screen. But we have “join hunt with nearby hunter via QR code” via the Palico paintball link. Links to hunts shared by local players should also appear under the “Join hunt” mechanism. Ideally also with the QR code displayed in the preview.

Optionally also with a Settings option for “share with all local hunters yes/no”, so that passers by do not jump in if not desired. But that seems unlikely that anyone would refuse a casual passer-by to join the hunt of their paintballed monster. I personally would be delighted if another person within 10 metres of Bluetooth range were to be a player and want to hunt my monster with me. Especially if they had a better weapon than I have!

現状/Current Status

Sharing of hunting of paintballed monsters is currently only available via physical scanning of QR code within “paintballed monsters” area, i.e. does not use the same mechanism as hunting local monsters or monsters in HAT or EDI. Mechanism should be consistent across the board.

When the game first launched, marked monsters can be hosted for local nearby hunters to join, but that was during the soft launch.

By the time the game reached the global launch, the feature was adjusted to what you’re seeing today because back then it was not possible to restrict marked monster hunts to the players you want, because QR hunt and party feature weren’t initially available.

At many players’ requests, it was made so that you can only join a marked monster hunt either by being in a party or by sharing the QR code to another player to scan (in any case, will still need to obey the prevailing group hunt rules and mechanisms) and it become impossible to host an open hunt for marked monsters.

Therefore, you can probably don’t expect the feature to go back to being an open hunt like in the past.
