There were player feedback that there are much more Dimensional Link group hunt invites than normal group hunt invites, therefore players are having a harder time entering group hunts with nearby players. I am not sure where these feedback come from.
The management has found that player behaviour has changed significantly since the release of the Dimensional Link feature, so much so that a significant portion of the players have not been going out to play as much as before the feature was introduced.
Therefore, the management decided to make it so that players will no longer receive group hunt invites from dimensionally linked monsters so as to return player behaviour back to how it was before the Dimensional Link feature was released without removing the opportunity to hunt monsters with other players across the world even if you are living in a remote area.

Personally, I think the current implementation of the feature is quite fair: It is basically the individual field monster version of the Hunt-a-thon feature, but instead of hunting 5 monsters in one sitting, you hunt normal monsters on the field instead and without the group hunt invitation from afar. If they had released the feature like this from the beginning, I think everyone would celebrate this feature instead of feeling upset about it now.
If your have a party, group hunt invitation is the same as DL? If you dont have a party, then what’s the different between local hunt and DK hunt? Just have to take them all down.
Change in behavior? For me as a work-form-home father with 3 kids to take care of (summer break), living in a city with no path for pedestrian to walk freely and safely, then DL don’t change any behaviour rather than the more times I open the game to grab those DL hunts to enjoy the game.
I don’t farm hardcore or aiming at anything to push to 10.5 at all, I just enjoy every hunt that I could get, while going out for shopping or doing other business (if I have time to stop along the trip). So DL dont change anything but the chances to enjoy the game for me.
So your explaination seem to sound reasonable but it is unacceptable for me from my point of view.
If this is the case, then just remove DL, most of the DL monster I could solo anyway. Rather than keeping a kind of useless feature; or change all the 8s in the normal hunting range to be able to send a DL invitation.(do it or not by choice)

I believe that if you’re in a party, you can only hunt the DL monsters with your party members and are neither able to open it up to other nearby players nor able to link up with remote hunters.
I am coming from the point of explaining what the management might be thinking about, based entirely on their announcements. They are either informed by the gameplay data from the playerbase or informed by player feedback from somewhere (and they have multiple channels to see player feedback).
Personally, I don’t see a need to remove DL monsters. They’re additional monsters for us to hunt, and they give players the opportunity to perform group hunts for the additional group hunt rewards, regardless of whether they can solo the monsters or not. Overall, having this feature is a win for us.
The only “problem” is how they have implemented this feature. If they had released it as simply a “field map monster” version of Hunt-a-thons, where HATs also do not send out group hunt invites since a while back, players would generally be celebrating this feature rather than lamenting about the post-release adjustment of the feature.
I agree. So since they didnt lauch the feature as accessible in normal range for a chance of group hunt at first place, it becomes a bad feature as it is now.
And as I have to be able to access the monster to start a group hunt is ok, but how about the invitation? For now I guesa that you have to have 4 players to engage the same monster that have DL to start the hunt? Then this won’t worth the effort to go out to get them for casual player anyway (at least for me)

And for the group hunt reward, I never get a triple or quara gem so I dont feel the need of group hunt reward that much
(I just play casual, have tried most of the weapon except CB, and I have weapons above 6s of all style : bow, LBG, LS, GS, Hammer, DB, GL…, lol. And I hunt everything and keep everything…. So I have to offload mats quite frequently)
