Deviljho Invasions

Currently, Deviljho will only invade when investigating 3 monsters on the field. Presumably, this is because those are the 3 monsters that will show up in any habitat. However, I think it would be a lot more fun and set a much better precedent if invaders had the potential to replace any monster within their habitat of proper star level. In current implementation, sometimes you can immediately narrow down Deviljho’s hiding spot to one or two locations, which takes a lot of the fun out of it. The season dialogue even talks about how Deviljho will eat a Rathalos, but the strongest monster we see him eat in game is a Pukei Pukei.

I would like to suggest going a step further and adding deviljho signature “imma beat a mofo with another mofo” move. If pickle invade jagras, let him start with jagras in mouth and use him to club hunters. Wishful thinking I know but would bring back 5th gen pickle experience

I wish that invaders actually invaded our hunts, instead of just eating them offscreen on the world map. Would elicit some of that terror.

Maybe even in general, volatile habitats allow other monsters to show up for Turf Wars?

Working that into the timer might be rough. Could even raise system requirements and prevent some players from being able to run the game. But it would also be truer to the monster hunter experience.

Turf wars, while funny, would require time stop for it’s duration, otherwise you’ll end up with failed hunt because rng and that’s never a nice feeling, besides, talking from experience here, budget phone gaming sucks even without 2 massive kaijus duking it out. Volatile territory being this giant warzone that can switch your hunt target is a good idea tho.

The way it works in my head, after a turf war, you could pick which monster to keep fighting, the original or the new one. Of course you’d keep all part break rewards from the original, and maybe the new one starts at lower star rating to compensate for lost time. In addition, the timer could go on pause until you make a selection.

Agreed though about the massive performance hit that might require. Plus, I think not all monsters have special interactions that could trigger in the first place (although all the ones in Now do, I think?)

I mean, depends really. Jho is hungry and dumb so he’ll pick fights with anyone. Zinogre also fights cause lone wolf and his turf, same with diablos. Tzitzi will more than likely bang and book it the instant he has a chance. Jagras will book it even if he doesn’t have a chance. General rule of thumb is, the lower the monster is on the food chain, the quicker he will make like a tree and leaf. Now I’m not sure how much does niantic consult with their monhun insider, but I’m assuming that most monsters won’t have turf wars simply due to their ecology. Okay I didn’t expect this level of milk toast paste on forums to ban word that describe monster general mental being in the gutters

Regardless I like your idea but I doubt it’s going to be implemented, technical difficulties be [redacted because this is scp now apparently. Mayo donuts writing bots to ban words is the worst thing since worst things were invented]

Sorry for the automatic system flagging! I have restored your original post. AI is filtering out toxic words for moderators to review. We try to make sure non-violating posts are restored in a timely manner. Thank you for your contribution.

Very quick off topic: maybe instead of auto flagging, make the bot autocorrect banned words with emojis, similar to what steam does? Tangent aside, no Biggie. Carry on
