Currently, when launching an arc shot at a monster or the training dummy, the arc shot pellets often drop down and land behind where the reticule is aiming at.

See the attached videos for example.

In Video 1, I dodged back twice from the starting position before firing the Arc Shot. This is quite a good shot as the maximum number of hits I ever landed on the training dummy was 19 hits, and this shot reached 17 hits. 17/19, 89.5%.

In Video 2, I dodged slightly forward to the left to move in slightly closer. Observe that now nearly all my shots missed despite being only slightly closer to the training dummy and aiming the reticule at it. The shots landed mostly behind the dummy.

In Video 3, I just stood at the same place and launched two more arc shots while aiming slightly lower, which connected better, with the final arc shot aimed slightly in front of the training dummy and it scored 15 hits.

Against a large monster like Anjanath, the shots often landed on its back despite being launched at the head when it is facing me and not moving.

Please review the way the Arc Shot aiming works. Perhaps bring it closer to how Cluster Ammo aiming, but when aiming at the ground, have the pellets hit the ground centred on where the reticule is aiming at so that the area of effect is within a certain radius from the centre.

@Stampeder
Thank you for your report regarding the Dodgebolt style.

Please note that Aqua Arrow uses Spread Arrow and it’s best for close range. The reticle will turn orange when you’re within the appropriate distance, so could you try if Arc Shot hits properly when the reticle is orange? Please also let us know if the issue occurs with other types of arrows.

Hi @NianticModKKI,

That is interesting… I guess I need to wait for the official support article to be published in order to learn more about the new bow styles.

However, how can we explain why my Arc Shot in Video 1 performed better when it was fired from a further distance than the Arc Shot fired in Video 2? I was actually using the Rathian Bow in the video.

I just tried the Arc Shot on Tobi-Kadachi Bow, Jyuratodus Bow, and Anjanath Bow. Of all these four bows I’ve tried, only the Arc Shot from Tobi Bow seems to hit the target more consistently. The Jyura Bow and Anja Bow have the same issue as the Rathian Bow as per the steps taken in the videos.

That just leaves the question why the Arc Shot from the short-ranged bows performed better when firing from a further distance (Video 1) than when fired at a closer distance (Video 2). Or is this something that I should wait to confirm when the official support article is published?——Oh, wait, perhaps it’s because I was near the maximum range and therefore the arc shot pellets naturally connected well at that distance. Okay, I think this answers my question.

Thank you for your response, @NianticModKKI! It was insightful and helpful. :folded_hands:t2:
I can plan and strategise better with this information and spend the resources more wisely.
