Tapping on lock-on to not attack

提案/Suggestion

Suggestion for an option so that tapping on target during lock-on is not recognized as an attack. Swiping and holding tap will still be recognized as movement or blocking.

現状/Current Status

Currently, tapping on target during lock-on is recognized as an attack. This can be detrimental if you do not intent to attack.

I can imagine this being challenging to implement, because, consider this: what if you missed the tap on the body part?

  1. Should the game not respond to your tap?
  2. If yes to point 1, how long should the game not respond to your tap?
  3. During the time when the game would not respond to your tap to attack because you’re trying to tap on the monster’s body part, does that mean none of the other taps will work?
  4. How would this work for ALL the melee weapons?

Simple, any tapping would not do attacks until you target something or tapping the lock-on button on bottom right. If it would be easier, just stop any input (tapping, swiping, holding) until you target something. Of course, this would be an option in settings if you want this.

Will it invalidate the current touches when you tap the Lock-On button?

Because if it does, it will break many of the melee weapons’ hold action while using Lock On.

I routinely charge my weapon while I run my finger over the target body part that I want to lock on while still having my finger on the screen. This allows me to keep charging while the game will also register the Lock On when I run my finger over the desired body part.

If it’s going to invalidate that, that will be 2 steps backward instead.

You can also consider doing this as well, which is to hold and then run your finger over the desired part instead of tapping, that way you will be guarding and staying stationary instead of attacking when trying to lock on.
