I’m trying to figure out how much room there is to expand on content already in this game, and what form it might take.
There are definitely some hints that content in this game will eventually be designed to go past Grade 10. Monster armor is restricted to their lowest rank in this game, for one: Low rank armor models for all monsters that were in the game at launch, the highest tier of normal monster part is a “plate” (we don’t have scale+s, shards, gems, mantles, etc), and armor skills are really sparse, with most pieces capping out with only 2 or 3 skills, and 0 room for any decorations.
But there are also some signs that point against it as well. Wyvern gem shards really only work as an endgame farm, it might be entirely too frustrating to add a theoretical R7 monster specific part. While armors don’t show their final forms in this game, weapons do. Item box would start to crumple under the weight of our new parts, depending on how it was done. How would these even show up on the field? Green stars, representing 11-15? Force everyone to beat 10* monsters to reach this upper tier?
It would be pretty nice if this could be addressed by Niantic at some point. I’ll happily continue to play this game no matter what. It’s simply that it would be nice to have some long-term idea of the game’s direction.
