Rebalance the equipment skill for Kushala helm

提案/Suggestion

Change the equipment skill for Kushala helm to either Reload Speed 2 or Reload Speed 1 + Recoil Down 1

現状/Current Status

Gunners builts are always consists of Reload Speed 3 and Recoil Down 3. With the release of Kirin, the leg piece equipped with Recoil Down 2 so that we can max out Kirin Flashstorm alongside with RL 3/RC 3.

Unfortunately, we can’t built Kushala Frostwind 3 with RL 3/RC 3 right now.

I would like to see the equal power level for Kushala Gunner.

This is not accurate. Not all bowguns require R3R3, so the amount of skill points needed for these two skills depends on which bowgun you’re using.

you can equip Bazelgeuse Helm instead

The point is we can built Kirin Flashstorm 3 with RL 3 / RC 3. Why can’t we have Kushala Frostwind 3 with RL 3 / RC 3 as well?

Can you share the built with 3 Kushala pieces and max RL/RC?

Set 1:
Bazel Helm
Paolu Mail
Barioth Gloves
Legiana Skirt
Nergi Greaves

Set 2:
Bazel Helm
Paolu Mail
Barioth Gloves
Coral Pukei Skirt
Lagombi Greaves

Set 3 (Nergi Avidity 3):
Nergi Helm (Ice Attack)
Paolu Mail (Ice Attack)
Legiana Gloves (Ice Attack)
Nergi Skirt (Ice Attack)
Nergi Greaves (Ice Attack)

Set 3 (Nergi Avidity 3):
Nergi Helm (Ice Attack)
Paolu Mail (Ice Attack)
Legiana Gloves (Ice Attack)
Nergi Skirt (Ice Attack)
Nergi Greaves (Ice Attack)

Kushala Frostwind can skip, there isn’t any weapon benefit from kushala frost wind 3 now
The current meta is nergi avidity/ fighting spirit/crit ele with driftsmelt ice attack 5 is stronger than kushala frostwind 3

While Negi set is stronger, we lost the ability to use SP. I don’t think all hunters like this. For this request, I just want the equal opportunity for Kushala set to be the same power level of Kirin set.

there are a lot of armors I hope can rebalance too like legiana helm with ice attack 2 like anja helm, odogaron mail with lock on like carnival mail (cause I unable to participate) or bring back carnival equipment, but it is hopeless that they will implement it, so it is better to move on for me and adapt what has offered :slightly_frowning_face:

“Power level” is relative. You have to see what monsters a particular weapon is designed to deal with and not blindly compare it to other weapons of different elements.

If the current power for ice HBG is enough to tackle all the ice-weak monsters, there’s no reason to improve it further.

And, with such high attack power, I think a 25% increase to attack power is more useful for Kushala HBG than a 25% increase to ice element power, unless you’re fighting against the likes of Teostra which has extra vulnerability to ice element. However, this has to be checked out concretely with math and see whether it makes sense to even have KF3 at the cost of other skills.

I know but you cant have it as every weapon still require supporting skills
offensive guard, focus, skyward striker, burst, aggressive dodger,…
rather than rebalance armor piece, I think it is better to buff guns as I dont think any guns able to solo any 8* elder dragon now

Also, Monster Hunter has always been about “using the right tool for the right job”. Yes, players have been able to make every weapon work for every monster, but no two different weapons can hunt the same monster the same way with the same performance, and we shouldn’t expect to be able to do so. Just like we can’t expect two humans to perform identically as they are unique individuals, even between identical twins.

In an interview for MHWilds, which I fail to retrieve the said interview video (I’ll update this post if I can find it), the interviewee (a director, I think) said that they have designed the monsters in such a way that they’ll demand a different set of equipment and approach in order to “be efficient”. In other words, “use the right tool for the right job”. In the past titles, players have blurred the lines between different monsters and tools, but they’re doubling down on this in Wilds, and I can feel that quite keenly in the OBT.

If anyone continue to approach Monster Hunter with the perspective of “if A can do this, so can B and at the same rate too!”, they will just be chasing shadows and is not enjoying the game anymore.

Am I having the right tool?
That’s why guns(B) need buff in my opinion, I cannot clear 10* Tzi Tzi with ice lbg even perfectly play and evade

Spread shot is a little tricky with Tzitzi unless you can hit it squarely in the face consistently. I like using Legiana bow on Tzitzi. The Rapid 4 on the head hits well, especially when you can PE its attacks to avoid getting interrupted while charging mid-way.
