Missing “Chat” function in “Friend List”. Not able to send any chat messages. No issue with my other phone (Huawei mate 20X)

Thank you for reaching out and for reporting the issue with the missing chat function in your Friend List.

Could you please check whether the “Niantic Chat” is enabled in the in-game settings? If it’s turned off, please try enabling it and see if the chat option becomes available.

Hi, yes the Niantic chat is “enable” in the settings.

  • Country/region currently set on your device (Please let us know the settings on both of your devices)
    *Some countries/regions are not eligible to use Niantic Chat
  • Screenshot of the in-game settings where we can confirm that “Niantic Chat” is enabled

The chat function was working previously but the issue now is only on 1 device (Redmagic 8S Pro+)​

For further investigation, cold you answer some questions below?

  • Do you log in to a same account with both device?
  • If you do, the same issue happens in Huawei mate 20X?
  • Were you able to use Niantic chat in the past?
  • If you are, do you switch the chat turn on/off? And it became unusable starting from v108 (latest update)?

>> No. Each device has different account.

>> I tried to switch account with different device. Only issue on Redmagic 8S Pro+

>> Yes.

* If you are, do you switch the chat turn on/off? And it became unusable starting from v108 (latest update)?

>> The settings was default “On”. Never switch on/off.

>> I tried to switch the chat settings “Off”, restart the phone. Chat not available (Correct). I switch the chat settings “On”, chat not available (Error). Restart the phone, now the chat is available. (Fixed)
