instead of the season 7 climax investigation II i am using the water monster investigation as i want to track rift jyuratodus.
currently in a swamp area instead of getting great jagras, jyuratodus, mizutsune or coral pukei pukei i am faced with only magnamalo (which isnt even specified by the water investigation)
Magnamalo spawn rates especially are absolutely cracked. It spawns in every biome so it’s sort of understandable, but it also seems to show up as part of every event’s investigation, has a higher spawn rate than every other monster that also inhabits every biome and a higher chance to be riftborne.
I wouldn’t mind quite as much if Magnamalo wasn’t THE worst monster ever designed. Hitboxes 10 miles wide, endless thrashing moveset, ridiculous area of effect attacks and extremely poor telegraphing to boot. I could overlook it in Rise when you could prepare for the hunt, take your time and use the environment, but with 75 seconds on the clock as a predominantly melee player they’re a pain in the ass.
