I believe this has been suggested before in the old forums, but allow me to reiterate it, given the situation today.
Given the various situations, such as temporary disconnections or network errors, or simply to track one’s recent hunts, I think it would be nice to have a Hunting Log that documents and summarises a hunter’s hunts and rewards.
Yes, we have the medal system now, but that only shows the overall numbers without any further breakdown or chronological information.
I created a set of spreadsheets to help capture the hunt rewards so as to tabulate observed drop rates of monsters with input from the community: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vT7_b1bELu2eUg9mL_DSDwbWcJAp51YqMgkl70C3nBlbSRR8gNI08bADeGsU-vUwCiIJxKS6GTcJYYu/pubhtml
Users of my spreadsheets have generally enjoyed using the spreadsheets, not just to contribute to the project, but also to log their hunts as part of their Monster Hunter experience.
While I don’t expect the Hunting Log to be as detailed as the spreadsheet I made, I think having some kind of detailed breakdown of the types of monsters that I have hunted at which strength would be nice to have.
If possible, please show the statistics of the Basic and Broken Part rewards (excluding bonus rewards, such as rewards from increased drop events, HATs, group hunts, and doubled rewards) for the hunter. With this, we can compare notes and see how the real drop rates are like between different players, and we can also use this as an evidence to show to players that “drop rates aren’t all that horrible”… or is it? We can’t tell if we don’t have actual, unbiased numbers that’s not contaminated by imprecise human memory or recording.
Most importantly, please show the Hunt Report of at least the last 10 hunts in a summary list, which when individually tapped on, the actual Hunt Report will be displayed for review. The Hunt Report should also include a local date/time with UTC time zone offset indicator (e.g. 2024-05-13 07:34:57 (UTC+8)
) to indicate when this hunt was completed. If a user gets an error right after completing the hunt but before seeing the hunt report, they could at least check their Hunting Log to confirm whether the hunt was successful or not. If they do not see an entry in the log, it means the hunt has failed.
With the introduction of hunting log, perhaps we can also introduce Monster Size as an aesthetic value for the fun of hunting the “Greatest” Jagras!
