Currently, the only way to get Friend Link Tokens is 3x a day (maximum 6 if we host EDIs) and the 1 token from the daily supplies.
As we unlock higher monster strength on the field map by completing the season story, it gets increasingly rarer to mark 7★ and below monsters through Palico Paintball, and at 9★ or 10★ progression, we naturally would not mark monsters that are 7★ and below. Some of us may also not prioritise EDI hunts and would naturally be limited to earning just 4 tokens a day.
Given a network of friends that are all at least 9★ progression and above, it becomes very rare to utilise the “free 9 hunts of 7★ and below monsters”, so this benefit of the feature is, I dare say, unterutilised and not useful when the network of friends are all 9★ and above. It would work very well when the network of friends are a mix of new and veteran players, but in some networks that comprise of mostly, if not only, 9★+ players, and given how the field map works, I don’t see how this part of the Friend Link feature is useful.
And if we want to enjoy hunts with friends who stay abroad, 7 tokens a day is severely limiting.
We still need to find and mark a monster in the first place in order to have a Friend Link hunt, so navigational data and player movement is not diminished with the introduction of more Friend Link Tokens.

Please consider awarding Friend Link Tokens in the Friend Quests.
However, consider awarding 1, 2, and 3 per completion of the Friend Quest per difficulty level of the Friend Quest. An example is given below (actual amount is at developers’ discretion):

I feel that this will help make the friend quests more meaningful beyond just completing for Season Tier Points and to help encourage players to contribute more beyond the “minimum effort” if they also wanted to use the Friend Link Tokens to hunt more with others.
