I saw an Anjanath on the over world that looked like a normal monster but when I tapped on it, it was in fact a rift born anjanath. The two sprites didn’t match up.

So it just happened again except this time it was a riftborne khezu that looked like the regular one on the map.
UPDATE: it has happened 3 times so far today, a khezu (video posted in comment above) and with another khezu and a barioth. So it is happening a bit more often than I initially reported.
Were riftborne monsters ever displayed with the riftborne effects on them on the map in the first place?
I’ve never seen one, but then I also don’t zoom in most of the time, so I can’t observe the before-and-after.
Before this most recent update all the riftborne monsters showed up normally, I could even see which part was the special breakable part from the map.

Oh wow. I never knew! I learned something new
Okay then please fix!
Big Update: I saw a bug post about the riftborne weapon effects only showing up on low graphics settings, so I tried setting my graphics to low and boom! The riftborne monsters showed up the way they are supposed to!
This video was taken with graphics set to low. When I set the graphic to high or medium, the Khezu did not have the riftborne mist effect.
