Under my friends, where it lists times hunted together, the results are inconsistent. Most of my friends list are people I added in the wild and I don’t have anybody on my list who I haven’t hunted with, but a seemingly random selection of about half of my friends show zero hunts together. Some of them are older friends while some are people added recently, so time doesn’t seem to be a factor.
Another thing I noticed is that I have only one friend that I’ve sent gifts to and while that player is showing a non zero number for times hunted together, they’re showing a zero for gifts given.

Thank you for your report that statistic of “Times hunted together” is not accurate.
The information you have provided has been shared with the development team for further investigation. If there is any additional information we can share on this, we’ll do so on this Forum.
Meanwhile, please provide us the following information if possible as it will help us investigate further.
- How you became friends (especially the friends that are showing inaccurate number of “Times hunted together”): Did you send the friend request or accept theirs?
- Anything else you noticed about the issue

I just reviewed my full list and it looks like all the ones showing 0 times hunted together were specifically friends added using the add friend button at the end of hunt summary. Typically when encountering other players in the wild we will friend up and then work together to finish off all the monsters in the area, so that confirms that both the hunts before becoming friends and after aren’t contributing to the total.
For my one friend I’ve sent gifts to, that friend was added via friend code. Since that’s a different data set, it might be appropriate for me to open a separate bug report for that issue. I’ll proceed with that action if you think it’s appropriate.

This is expected. The “times hunted together” only count from the hunts after both of you have become friends, not before.
The more precise label would be “Number of times hunted together as friends”, so think of it from this perspective.
Since both of you would only officially become friends when a friend request is accepted and therefore both of you appear in the friend list, if e.g. you added a person as friend and continued to hunt 20 times more together but that person only accepted your request after all of that and then both of you never crossed paths again, the count would still be 0.
I think you misunderstand. I don’t think I’ve ever only done just one hunt with anyone. I always friend up and invite them to a few more. The situation you describe might explain one or two of my friends added from the results screen but definitely not all of them.
Case in point, just last week I bumped into a person, did a hunt, added them to my friends, saw that they accepted, and then we killed around another half a dozen or more monsters together. The counter still shows zero in spite of the fact that we were already friends for all but one of the hunts we did together.
