In terms of the recent patch notes regarding the DL hunts, can someone define “notification range”? In the patch notes (below) it sounds like i won’t get the join hunt notification unless the monster is in range, but i should be able to join the hunts at the original extended range if i click on the monsters icon so long as it is in the original range when DL was added.
Patch notes in question:
Adjusted the notification range for group hunts for dimensionally linked monsters, making it narrower than that for regular monsters.
…
In addition, you can still hunt with people far away by tapping directly on a monster affected by Dimension Link.
It means that the monster has to be within your hunting circle in order for the notification to appear. When the monster is inside your circle, you can tap on it instead of the notification, just as before. But if you try to tap on a DL monster’s location or icon when it’s outside your circle, nothing happens—or if you’re zoomed all the way out and tap its icon, you get the “Too far away to access” banner—the same as with normal monsters. (Source: I’ve currently got a DL Pukei right outside my circle.)
(Actually, I’m only assuming the notification still appears, since they said “additionally.” I haven’t had one inside my circle yet today…)
It does appear, but exactly what you said about the zooming out i figured people were complaining that their local hunts were flooded woth the DL hunts and so they only wanted to see they could join if in range, but if zoomed out, they could select the monster and it should join as before with the old range instead of saying too far away.
To sum it up, it sounded like they said they are only nerfing the notification, not eligibilty to join. It sounded like one could still cick into the monster if it was still within the old range. That’s what I’d like clarified.
Yeah, they should’ve called it “join range” or something. I guess their logic is if you’re not in range to join, you’re not in range for notifications, so there’s no reason to use a different term than for the local hunts.
My Japanese isn’t quite up to par, so I don’t know if it’s phrased similarly confusingly there too or not.
