Coming from Pokemon go, the map in this game is severely outdated. The area I’m in has zero points of interest in MH but Pokemon go they are everywhere

It appears that the map hasn’t been updated at all since its release. (At least, some roads near my home still don’t exist on it.)
How can we get an update ? Any mods here who can pass it on to the team ?
I’m a whale ready to spend big bux on your game but if I can’t even play it due to nothing on the map, what’s the point?

We players can only wait for dev to update the map. (If requests have been submitted, we hope it will be updated eventually.)
Is there somewhere on this forum a Dev will respond ? I find it hard to navigate or to even find an English section of this forum…
If it’s a bug report, dev will respond, but for improvement requests, there is generally no reply.
This request has been raised before, so I believe it will be updated eventually.

I don’t think this is a bug, but if you would like to report it as one, please change the category from “Improvement” to “Bug Report.” (dev may change it back to “Improvement,” though.)
I’ve been reading on Reddit and people think the map hasn’t been synced in years.
As this is a GPS game, a map not being synced in days or weeks would be bad enough but literal years? How is that not a huge bug?
It might not be the most appropriate way to put it, but I think it’s simply negligence on the part of dev.
Yes oh dear god yes, a new import of the lighship POI and refresh of the maps is SERIOUSLY needed. So many blocked areas that were marked down as construction etc, that have dissapeared that are still dead areas ie no spawns in the game.
@NianticRi please please please prioritize this:
Map refresh and gathering point rebalance, maybe poll the database and disable any spots that has NEVER been gathered at, even if there has been players in the general area? Repopulate these slots into other POI’s that are more likely to see traffic? Same goes for Huntathon/EDI-viable gathering spots.

They do sync it, just not the entire map for everywhere. There have been many requests since the game started, and based on the observed responses, they are doing this on a case-by-case basis and not a world-wide sync, and not a priority on their lists.

Without exposing your whereabouts, I believe the best channel is to contact them via in-game support. if they can’t help you there, they can’t help you here either. It’s the same.
Give them the details and supporting evidence. don’t assume that they know immediately what you’re talking about. not sure if you can attach images there but let them know what you are seeing from other sources which leads you to the conclusion that the map is not updated and therefore your request. That should help them to help you.
When they will update the map is another topic, however.
