Problem
- Right now, I often encounter the situation where I have a monster on the field map that is of a strength that I can take on, even when hunting in a full group of 4 hunters where the other 3 hunters have not unlocked the difficulty of the monster (e.g. I have an 8-star Barroth on the map but the other 3 hunters are only at 6-star difficulty).
- However, if the newer hunters open that Barroth on their map before I do, it will be just a 6-star Barroth hunt, not an 8-star one.
- If I create a grouphunt for the 8-star Barroth, the other 3 hunters will not be able to see my invitation if they are all in the 6-star Barroth group hunt.
- Therefore, I hope there is a way to signal to the other hunters that, “I have a stronger version of the monster on my map and I want to share it with you all so that we can all take it down together for better rewards.”
- On the contrary, now that I am at 10-star difficulty, I avoid most of the 10-star monsters because I cannot take them on alone. Even if I pair up with other hunters, if their equipment is not strong enough, the hunt will still be unsuccessful. I often end up clearing the other easier monsters by myself and then hope that someone will open the 10-star monster as a monster with lower difficulty. However, if the other hunters are not within range of that 10-star monster on my map, then end up all of us will not be hunting that monster because 1) it is too difficult for all of us if I open it as a 10-star hunt, and 2) none of them are near enough to open that monster at a lower difficulty.
Suggestion
- If any of the hunters in the group hunt is tracking a monster of a different strength, those hunters can ask the group if they want to upgrade or downgrade the strength of the monster, and the other hunters must vote in majority (the hunter who asked to upgrade/downgrade counts as 1 vote automatically towards upgrading/downgrading).
- For example,
a. Hunter A hosted a hunt for a 7-star Barroth.
b. Hunters B, C, and D accepted the invitation.
c. Hunter D saw they are tracking an 8-star version of the Barroth on their map and uses this feature to ask if the group wishes to upgrade the monster strength to an 8-star Barroth. All players will have their Ready status (if any) revoked when the question is asked. The lobby timer should be paused when a poll is ongoing, and any hunter can leave at this point and withdraw their vote if they have voted.
d. Hunters A, B, and C will cast their votes Yes/No. Hunter D’s vote is an automatic Yes since they asked the question. Simple majority wins. Draws will be considered as a “No”.
e. Hunters will have a chance to leave the hunt after knowing the outcome of the poll should they not want to continue with the hunt after seeing the result of the poll.
f. If the poll was successful, the target monster will be upgraded or downgraded to the strength as requested in the poll. In my scenario here, if the result is a majority “Yes”, then the 7-star Barroth will become an 8-star Barroth. Players will then mark their readiness to hunt as per usual. The other poll should be disabled since it doesn’t make sense to ask if the group wants to downgrade/upgrade the monster strength if they have already voted to upgrade/downgrade the monster strength.
g. If the poll was unsucessful, Hunter D wil not be able to ask the same question again. Hunters B and C can ask the question if they have the same monster on their respective field maps and are of a different strength from the one asked by Hunter D. For example, if Hunter B has a 6-star Barroth while Hunter C has a 9-star Barroth, both Hunters B and C can ask if the group wants to change the monster to a 6-star or 9-star Barroth. If the new poll was successful, see the previous point. If the new poll was unsuccessful, we come back to this point.
