When using a non-elemental weapon, does equipping armor skills that increase attack boost damage output?
In the case of non-elemental weapons, you can think of ‘attack-boosting’ effects like Burst and ‘damage-boosting’ effects like Valor as having the same result.
In short, you could say that “simply whichever number is higher is stronger.”
Of course, you do need to take activation conditions and such into consideration, though.
On the other hand, since they have no element, ‘element-boosting’ effects like Elemental Attack Boost [SP] have no effect.
This is just a rough explanation, but
for fast-hitting weapons, it’s “Burst” and “連撃・境地”,
for guard weapons, “Offensive Guard”,
and if you have leftover slots, the general idea is to stack “本領発揮” > “Attack Boost Lv 2” ≒ “勇猛”.
Also, the Seregios armor’s “攻撃活性” increases the attack power gained from the above skills by 10/15/25% for Lv 1/2/3, making it extremely powerful.
I recommend running it on at least one piece.
Also, aside from the “percentage increase” skills mentioned earlier, there are also “flat increase” skills.
For attack power, there are skills like “Attack Boost”, “勇猛”, and “攻撃・境地”, while for elemental values, there are skills like “[Element] Attack” and “ハイチャージ〇”.
When you want to compare these “flat increase” and “percentage increase” skills, you can compare them by dividing the “increase provided by the skill” by the “combined total of the weapon’s attack power and elemental value”.
For example, if you activate 勇猛 Lv5 on a weapon with 3,000 attack power:
1000÷3000=0.333333…
which shows that it has an effect of “about 33%”.
Well, this is a bit tedious, so I think it’s fine to learn it after you get used to things.
Damage-boosting skills are fine, but if you also want to increase shelling damage, slotting in damage-boosting skills is pretty standard.
I think 攻撃活性 had different mechanics from other skills, if I remember correctly.
If you’re using Tigrex weapons,
凶会心 is generally recommended, but since it’s a skill that tends to rely on luck, you should probably watch out for damage variance.
